Peace, love, and witty warfare! 🌼
We’re casting Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, reimagined in the Summer of Love (1967)—a world of flower power, free spirits, sun-drenched romance, and razor-sharp banter.
We are seeking actors of all genders, backgrounds, and experience levels. Ages are flexible; energy, imagination, and a willingness to lean into both heightened comedy and sincere emotion are key. Accents are optional—truth and connection matter more than tradition. Whether you’re a seasoned Shakespearean or a first-time flower child, if you love language, laughter, and a little rebellion—this show is for you.
Available Roles
Beatrice
Brilliant, bold, and fiercely independent. A master of wit who uses humour as armour, Beatrice is allergic to sentiment—until love challenges her defenses.
Benedick
Confident, clever, and loudly anti-romance. Benedick matches Beatrice word for word and joke for joke, masking his vulnerability with bravado and charm.
Hero
Gentle, sincere, and quietly strong. Hero is loving and loyal, with a deep emotional core that is often underestimated by those around her.
Claudio
Young, idealistic, and passionate. Claudio loves intensely but is easily swayed, struggling to balance trust, honour, and jealousy.
Don Pedro
Charismatic and influential. A natural leader who enjoys orchestrating romance, Don Pedro brings warmth, authority, and a taste for mischief.
Don John
Brooding and resentful. An outsider driven by bitterness, Don John takes pleasure in disruption and revenge.
Leonato
A respected host and authority figure. Proud of his reputation, Leonato is loving but deeply affected by public shame and honour.
Margaret
Outspoken, witty, and playful. Margaret sees the world clearly and enjoys stirring the pot—sometimes without realizing the consequences.
Ursula
Calm, observant, and kind. Ursula is a grounding presence, often the quiet architect behind successful schemes.
Dogberry
A self-important but lovable authority figure. Dogberry is earnest, confusing, and accidentally insightful.
Verges
Dogberry’s loyal second. Gentle, well-meaning, and just as confused—but fully committed.
Borachio
Worldly and morally flexible. Borachio is clever, persuasive, and willing to exploit others to get ahead.
Conrade
Sharper and more cynical than his companion. Conrade understands the game and knows when things are going too far.
Plus a supporting cast of crazies!
