Love, laughter, and flower power.

Step into the vibrant world of the Summer of Love as William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is reimagined in a colourful 1960s setting filled with music, mischief, and romance.

Young lovers Claudio and Hero seem destined for a perfect match—until a jealous plot threatens to tear them apart. Meanwhile, sharp-tongued Beatrice and swaggering Benedick wage a hilarious war of words while everyone around them conspires to make them fall in love.

Bursting with wit, mistaken identity, and joyful chaos, this fresh, flower-powered take on Shakespeare’s beloved comedy proves that even in an age of peace and love… the course of true love never did run smooth.

A Throne of their Own.png

As a volunteer-driven, nonprofit theatre company, our actors give everything to their performances — their time, their energy, their voices, and occasionally their dignity. What they currently don’t have is a dedicated backstage toilet. This means that during performances they must either:

  • Embark on a covert mission through public areas in partial costume,

  • Risk bumping into delighted (and slightly confused) patrons mid-interval, or

  • Demonstrate Olympic-level bladder control until curtain call.

  • While this certainly adds suspense, it’s not the kind we’re aiming for.

So here’s our heartfelt (and slightly crossed-legged) appeal:

We’re raising funds to install a proper backstage toilet for our hardworking cast and crew. A modest facility. A porcelain sanctuary. A small but mighty upgrade that will preserve theatrical illusion, protect period costumes from awkward lobby encounters, and support the comfort of the volunteers who bring stories to life on our stage.

If you’ve ever applauded a performance, laughed at a joke, shed a tear in the dark, or simply appreciate the magic of community theatre, please consider contributing to this very practical piece of stage infrastructure.

Help us keep the drama onstage — and the plumbing backstage. Give our artist a Throne of their Own!
